It looks like Congress is finally taking matters into their own hands with regard to the Department of Justice’s inaction in the Trump dossier conspiracy…
Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, has sent a letter to Jeff Sessions’ Justice Department demanding compliance by Wednesday the 3rd with the subpoenas his committee issued for information on how the department and its FBI subsidiary have handled the Russia probe.
Noting the four months of stonewalling he’s gotten, Nunes concluded in his letter that “at this point it seems the DOJ and FBI need to be investigating themselves.”
Rep. Nunes has documented a series of shady maneuvers by the Justice Department. As a result, documents and witnesses subpoenaed by his committee last summer have still not been produced.
Predictably, the Justice Department has offered up various and multifaceted excuses for not producing the documents. At first, department officials claimed the documents didn’t exist, which is laughable.
Per Fox News, Rep. Nunes writes: “As it turns out, not only did documents exist that were directly responsive to the committee’s subpoenas, but they involved senior DOJ and FBI officials who were swiftly reassigned when their roles in matters under the committee’s investigation were brought to light.”
The Justice Department and FBI officials involved included Bruce Ohr… He has been demoted from his former position of associate deputy attorney general due to his possibly-criminal contacts with Fusion GPS, the Democratic National Committee-paid firm responsible for the Trump dossier. Ohr’s wife worked for Fusion GPS at the time.
The conspiracy to obstruct justice in these matters is unprecedented. While the mainstream media continues to spin itself into hysteria over manufactured Russian drama, the real story is tossed aside. Criminals within the Justice Department and FBI are able to escape justice and continue their schemes to discredit the president.
Until Hillary Clinton, James Comey, Peter Strzok, and Bruce Ohr are all brought to justice, the American people will not be satisfied. They must be made an example so that this level of conspiracy never occurs again. Democracy and the honest-to-God fate of our country hangs in the balance.
What do you think of Rep. Nunes and his excellent work?
Should we throw Jeff Sessions out and
find someone willing to do the job?
