In an unexpected bombshell, Deputy Press Secretary Shah told reporters on Tuesday that President Donald Trump’s attorneys have approved moving ahead with the appointment of a second special counsel. The investigation will look at partisan misconduct at the DOJ and FBI during the 2016 presidential election.
Comey, Rosenstein, and Mueller: you’d better watch your backs!
When Mr. Shah was asked, “FISA warrant should it be released, and what about a second special counsel?,” he responded, “President’s attorneys have addressed this and said yes to a second special counsel.”
He then added, “That document along with any other that the House Intelligence Committee chooses to vote out of its committee through its process and all the House procedures, we would entertain like anything else.”
Here’s the scoop per Spero Forum:
The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) provides for a procedure by which the executive branch may petition the secret Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court to provide a warrant enabling the government to conduct surveillance on American citizens. At issue is the warrant itself: Congress wants the warrant unsealed in order to examine its contents and determine whether the discredited so-called Trump dossier was used to justify the surveillance on a Trump campaign volunteer.
On Friday, Trump declassified a memo produced by the House Intelligence Committee and committee chairman Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) that accuses the FBI and DOJ of politicizing its investigation of Trump’s political organization. Democrats have prepared their own memo, which reportedly seeks to refute the Republicans’ claims. According to Axios, Shah said that the White House will approach further memos, including the Democrats’, in the same manner in which the Republicans’ memo was handled. “Which is to allow for a legal review, national security review led by the White House Counsel’s Office, and then within five days the president will make a decision about declassifying it,” said Shah.
Hot Air confirmed the report:
Deputy Press Secretary Raj Shah told reporters on Air Force One Monday that President Trump’s attorneys have already approved the idea of appointing a second special counsel to investigate the FBI and Justice Department’s actions during the 2016 presidential campaign, according to White House pool reports.
The American public deserves an investigation of the investigators. It’s obvious that the corruption and malfeasance at the DOJ and FBI is so deep that it’s going to be impossible to have fair investigation with regard to the Russia probe.
Robert Mueller’s sham investigation has been a political witch hunt from the beginning. That’s what needs to be investigated! And that’s what we’re going to get…
Thank you, President Trump!
What do you think of Robert Mueller’s “investigation?”
